#Using xdg-open with a website url opens two tabs in a new window

IIRC, this hasn't been happening for that long, but as you can see in the video, opening a website with xdg-open will open two tabs in a new firefox instance, when it should just open one tab of the site in an existing instance if there is one.
Downloading something from discord opens two tabs which downloads the file twice which is annoying as well.
I have xdg-utils ver 1.2.1-1 installed.

This doesn't happen on my other laptop (arch too) which has the same version of xdg-utils so it must be some config I messed up, but idek what it could be

@tacit swan compare the conf

Any specific config or just try to find differences?

What xdg conf?

Yes but what config. The default applications in the KDE settings?

It works properly if set to chrome but the issue persists in firefox

#

Since xdg-open delegates to kde-open, I tried using just it but it has the same issue so I don't think it's xdg's fault

I made a post on KDE's discussion site since this seems KDE specific so hopefully something comes out of that. The only similar issue I've found was an arch bbs post from 2012 bigcry
