looking it up, it seems like this is being slow? the file I'm using to start the process is not that big (68.4 KB)

try installing ipxe and copying /usr/share/ipxe/x86_64/ipxe.efi to the tftp directory mentioned in the tutorial

sacred bone
#

I'm not using EFI

#

at all

#

so I skipped that part

#

bruh I am never gonna use EFI on this

tawny nest
#

alright, i take it you copied /usr/share/ipxe/ipxe.pxe in that case?

sacred bone
#

for note, this is in a VMware VM

tawny nest
#

alright, copy that over and create a menu liike te guide says and see if you can at least drop to the ipxe shell

sacred bone
#

just into the root

#

?

#

nevermind, it doesn't exist

tawny nest
#

yeah, just create the /tftpboot boot dir

sacred bone
#

I have that

#

already

#

I already had all the files set up

#

or at least I thought

tawny nest
#

k, just make sure the dnsmasq config points to ipxe.pxe and not the one mentioned in the guide, then restart dnsmasq and lets see where wej're at

sacred bone
#

I don't have a ipxe.pxe

#

I'm gonna have to code that myself aren't I

tawny nest
#

your ipxe server is arch? should be able to just pacman -S ipxe and it will provide that file in /usr/share/ipxe/ipxe.pxe

sacred bone
#

fedora

#

and I tried Fedora's eqviliant

#

and iPXE doesn't exist

#

or I'm just not adding the correct 72 dashed addons

Please follow the Standard Litany when asking a question:
What was your environment? What was your operating system, configuration?
What did you do? What did you run or test? Where?
What actually happened? What were the exact results, complete log contents, exact error messages?
What did you expect? What were you aiming to achieve? What result were you looking for?

Vague or superficial questions will yield vague or superficial answers. False information leads to false solutions.
