indigo void
# onyx marten is this for a backend for a de ie xfce?

~/.config/labwc/autostart
swaybg -i ~/Downloads/Documents/stray.png >/dev/null 2>&1 &

~/.config/labwc/rc.xml

<libinput>
    <device category="SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad">
      <tap>yes</tap>
      <disableWhileTyping>no</disableWhileTyping>
    </device>
</libinput>
</labwc_config>

For the rc.xml Im not sure if its loading the modification I did in /etc/libinput/local-overrides.quirks or if my rc.xml works, but I suspect labwc to not load rc.xml either

(Im on XFCE, I had issues with a game using X11, somehow Wayland with labwc fixes the issue)

#

@onyx marten

#

swaybg -i ~/Downloads/Documents/stray.png >/dev/null 2>&1 works in terminal and if I...

#

(sec installing flameshot lol printscreen dont work)

#

(Flameshot cant detect the DE so a crappy picture will have to do)

#
Entity: line 1: parser error : Start tag expected, '<' not found
swaybg -i ~/Downloads/Documents/stray.png >/dev/null 2>&1 &

#

here's the verbose

#

@onyx marten

#

as you can see on the picture the background can load I just dont get why the autostart doesnt work when booting

onyx marten
indigo void
#

I dont get it. XFCE seems to be working as well as labwc right now.

indigo void
onyx marten
#

startxfce4 --wayland -c or -C /path/to/config

onyx marten
indigo void
#

Do I put this in autostart or something Im all lost here

indigo void
#

I just want the autostart labwc config in ~/.config/labwc/ to load when I get into the session

#

afaik both xfce and labwc are loading fine after login

onyx marten
indigo void
#

but I dont get it

#

where do I put this?

onyx marten
#

@indigo void in your .desktop file for xfce-wayland

indigo void
#

its called xfce-wayland.desktop?

onyx marten
#

ls

indigo void
#

okay I see the exec line

onyx marten
#

change that to startxfce4 --wayland -c or -C /path/to/config

indigo void
#

hmm its complaining about being read only sec...

onyx marten
#

@indigo void chmod it

indigo void
#

okay finally let me write

#

I'll try relogging see if that changes

#

And I cant login anymore rip

#

I simply added the -c

#

Trying with full path see if that changes

#

Eh nope still locked out

onyx marten
#

@indigo void link the .desktop file please

indigo void
#

Reverting the changes let me login.

#

Sec gonna fire up discord

onyx marten
indigo void
#

doesnt seem to be showing the whole file

#

its too big

onyx marten
#

@indigo void press the expand button

#

also link the one you had before

indigo void
#

even expanding it doesnt show all the lines

onyx marten
#

it does

indigo void
#

beside all the region things in all possible language this is the llines you prob want to see

#
Icon=
Type=Application
DesktopNames=XFCE
#

all I did was

Icon=
Type=Application
DesktopNames=XFCE

then tried

Icon=
Type=Application
DesktopNames=XFCE
indigo void
#

will it load autostart file too? and Im basically removing startxfce4 --wayland correct?

onyx marten
#

startxfce4 --wayland -C ~/.config/labwc/rc.xml

indigo void
#

Pretty sure if I just point to rc.xml it wont load

#

oh ok

#

thats what I thought

#

Still locking me out

onyx marten
indigo void
#

With the full path.

onyx marten
#

startxfce4 --wayland -c ~/.config/labwc/rc.xml

indigo void
#

Nope still not letting me in

onyx marten
#

@indigo void photo of the error please

indigo void
#

Theres no error

#

I simply cannot start back the session screen flashed black and reloads greeter.

onyx marten
#

with -c or -C ?

indigo void
#

Both

#

Tried both capitalization

indigo void
#

Uhm they simply suggesting switching to wayfire in both posts

onyx marten
indigo void
#

Then retry the previous fix we tried ig

#

Nope

#

Even by poiting directly to autostart

onyx marten
indigo void
#

It only loads the bg

#

But it lets me login

#

So I guess the start xfce4 line isnt working but the bg one does?

#

I have a labwc.desktop file too

onyx marten
indigo void
#

I think every autostart lines need to end with &

#

Ive read that earlier

indigo void
#

If I do this xfce and labwc launches and I can see labwc loading autostart (wallpaper shows up) a second after when xfce4 starts the wallpaper disapears picardfacepalm

#

And well... half my desktop startmenu is gone.

#

I wonder if I can just feh bg on that desktop exec scritp

#

Or swaybg wtv

#

And call it a day.

#

Honestly running labwc just by necessity otherwise I heard KDE would fix my game freezing bug too.

#

But its so bloated and ressource hungry

#

I'll try and make a custom .desktop file to autostart swaybg and the mousepad was fixed in xinput marking this as "closed" I'll make a new thread if I cant figure out how to autostart swaybg through other means than labwc

#

@onyx marten thanks for trying I guess. Honestly not worth inversting more time for labwc, maybe I'll even give Plasma another chance.
