#hello i need help, no matter what i try my secure boot is greyed out

what tells bootctl ?
The official installation image does not support Secure Boot (FS#53864). Secure Boot support was initially added in archlinux-2013.07.01-dual.iso and later removed in archlinux-2016.06.01-dual.iso. At that time prebootloader was replaced with efitools, even though the latter uses unsigned EFI binaries. There has been no support for Secure Boot in the official installation medium ever since.
In order to boot an installation medium in a Secure Boot system, you will need to either disable Secure Boot or modify the image in order to add a signed boot loader.
i am on windows currently and trying to turn my secure boot off so i can switch to linux without furthur complexities
i tried everything thats available on the internet
i updates my bios
turned off fast boot
setup administrator password and user password as well
still it is greyed out
@zinc shuttle
@grim inlet
im trying to disable it, its enabled and greyed out
oh trying to disable oof
this is out of the realm of operating systems and more towards firmware really, what's your hardware, mobo especially, if laptop then the laptop model
its msi katana gf66 12uc laptop, i contacted msi support they just said try updating bios i did that as well but nothing helped
is it this?
can i see what you see if you enter the secure boot page?
don't get your hopes up tho
sure
ill switch to phone and send you
@grim inlet
Hey sorry i had to go potty
Well the greyed out secure boot is just secure boot status
The actual toggle is above it
set to disable
@viscid shuttle
in BIOS switch to Advanced Mode (F7)
go to:
Settings
Advanced
Windows OS Configeration
Secure Boot and set it to Disabled
in your case i think platform settings
Wording may seem a bit strange but that's the option you're looking for
Disable it, and reboot
will that disable my secure boot fr?
trying
rn
platform settings doesn't have it
also i searched this up and yes disabling secure boot support none the less turns off secure boot so now i did what you said im gonna cross verify if the secure boot is off
thanks @grim inlet
raambm received a thank you cookie!
... solved
