Reading the CD drive

Hello everyone, I'm attempting to use my disk drive with makemkv so I can archive my old movies n such onto my Jellyfin server like I used to, however in my research I've found out that flatpaks do not have access to the sr0 drive, and can't have access due to how flatpak is designed.. So I've been trying to get VM's working, and they don't see it either, I'm assuming for the same reason. While trying to get Oracle VM working it just refused to even launch a VM so I don't know what I'm doing wrong there because Boxes works lol. Anyway back to the point, has anyone solved this? I need to be able to read disks, handbrake and makemkv can both see the drive, but when they try to open it I get a forever loading screen. For the record I've been on linux for years, and it's never been a problem until I just recently switched to arch, so I know my setup is capable of it...

I have tried that, I found it durring my research, and it did come up. However I am, as I said in my message, stuck on a forever loading screen

Let me rephrase the question; my known good CD drive was working before I moved to arch, now that I'm on arch no app can read from it, but they can all see it. Solutions???
