I'm using pulseaudio. No matter what WM/DE I use, whenever I play any media (whether through a browser or VLC), it fails to start until I physically replug and plug back in my headphones. At the same time, pulseaudio-equalizer disables, and I need to re-enable it. The configuration I'm using has worked just fine in previous installs and devices.

@mental radish try pipewire
pipewire and pipewire-pulse works but i would still need an alternative to pulseaudio-equalizer
since my shitty headphones sound horrible without some kind of intervention
@mental radish pavucontrol?
that doesnt seem to have an equalizer?
it does
helvum
i dont mean an equalizer as in changing the source of the audio and its respective device i moreso mean changing the volume levels or gain of specific bands of frequencies
i use the term equalizer for those cuz all the software i know that does that like audacity, vlc, lineage audiofx, etc call it that
and cuz thats how its defined on wikipedia
but i understand the terms jay be confusing
