i was following this guide: https://gist.github.com/mjkstra/96ce7a5689d753e7a6bdd92cdc169bae#fstab
when i first rebooted and logged into arch, iwctl wasnt installed so i went back, chrooted into my root directory and installed iwctl
then i went back to to my arch installation and attempted to install yay and i see this
#Cannot install yay: connection refused

the Arch Linux community does not offer support for the information contained in third party guides; for installation procedures, the Installation guide is the only officially supported document. The content in the third party guides may be out of date or inaccurate
guh
there is no way a third party guide is exactly the same as the wiki. There are several decision points when one install in accordance with the wiki. At its extreme best, a third party guide might represent one correct installation based upon one set of decisions for a particular machine at the time the guide was made.
the installation guide doesnt cover installing yay i think
the guide seems to tell you to install networkmanager
make sure youre connected to the internet with nmtui
once done that, make sure you can connect to the sites needed using ping
if not, make sure your connection is set up properly, networkmanager comes with a dhcp client, but it may not be set up by default on some networks or systems
ok ill try that
in nmtui, you can edit your connection to provide your ip address, gateway, dns, etc or see if your device can use dhcp which it should be able to
if it still can not connect, try restarting your router
by design
the error is connection refused which doesnt exactly help, but look out for other http codes like 503 or 404
aur helpers are not supported on arch
uh
i dont suggest showing an ssid list id blur that out
but also try again
make sure your connection is stable
i just did
maybe remove some obstructions between you and your router
it said the same thing
then it returned this
wait
i clicked the wrong thing bruh
wait but ping works???
