^ This, I daily the exact setup you described I have a 2tb nvme with arch and windows 11 installed on the same drive. Try a vm first get it working then wipe it and do it again until your comfortable, if you have any specific questions about a particular subject or issue my dm's are open, but I'd highly recommend scouring the arch wiki for your answers

Also pro tip as you figure out how you like your set up, document what you are doing while your are doing it in like Google docs or something so you have a reference if you forget how you set something up. I have a Google doc with some one of commands I only need to run once on a fresh install to get what I want working that I'd never remember in the event of starting from scratch.

And to clear up your confusion about how he got a desktop this is where he installed his DE he used Xorg (display server), ssdm (display manager) and plasma (DE) for it. Maybe try looking at what these packages are in arch wiki?
