#Server freezes caused by driver? (Please Help I‘m going crazy)

I‘m at my witt‘s end, hence why I‘m asking here.

Besides my glorious Garuda Gaming-PC I have a server running Proxmox. Ic case anyone doesn‘t know Proxmox: it‘s just debian + kvm with a very well made Web-UI.

For a while now I‘ve had hard freezes. The screen is conpletely frozen, network is dead, etc.

So obviously I thought it might be hardware and tried replacing basically everything:

  • PSU
  • boot-SSD
  • Ram

Nothing helped.
After switching my board, with my main PC it started working as it should, but now comes the weird part:

My main PC was running just fine.

Now after around a month with both working perfectly, I thought it might just be a weird coincidence and switched the boards back.

Now instead of freezing after a few hours, my server freezes almost immediatly after or even during boot.

Since both ran fine for a month I‘m now wondering: could this be a driver causing the freeze?

Server:
AM4 X570 board from gigabyte
Ryzen 9 5950X

PC:
Am4 B550 Asrock steel legend
Ryzen 7 5800X

I‘m at a complete loss, this makes basically no sense otherwise, but I never had a system freeze like that on linux.

If you read this and don‘t have any idea either, please at least write that, so I know I‘m not going crazy…
