I've just started a fresh hyprland install on my laptop, and I've setup a cursor theme via hyprcursor and xcursor. The cursor theme is correctly used by all applications I've tested so far except for wofi drun. attached is my environment variables (set in hyprland.conf) and my icons directory (default is a symlink to Bibata-Modern-Classic-xcursor)

maybe gtk or qt theming

well, turns out all it took was a reboot. moral of the story: always reboot after changing configs
