#kalarm qt dark themes out of wack or am i missing smthing?

Go to kde theme section. Thier are bunch of sub parts for setting themes for different parts of windows. See which one has light theme on it, and install a dark version (or whatever you want) for it.
Did this recently break?
I am on hyprland and me, and a few of my friends(i3/kde plasma) are experiencing this exact same issue.
We all have our env vars set up properly, aswell as kdeglobals.
Kde fucked up bad this time.
@gaunt iris i m not on kde i just run arch and just run hyprland on top of it with other stuff
@dreamy saddle I might be misremembering but pretty sure it s somewhat recent it s been like this for like a month or smthing? maybe a bit more - I just thought it was smthing with the qt themes and left it for when i had some time I d just check out what was wrong. But honestly not sure cuz everything else is fine.
Even other kde stuff are fine like okular kdenlive krita everything seems fine - Besides krita and kdenlive not following system theme by default I tried changing from within and they seem fine on different themes that I have the problem on with kalarm
is your problem just on kalarm or other kde apps also?
my problem is on dolphin only, no other kde apps that I know of
well actually kde settings too but I don't use those so couldn't care less tbh
ok so just quickly trying dolphin same thing do u use kalarm? could u check how that looks also?
What I notice is those 2 are the only kde apps that I cant change theme from within the app I guess they directly follow qt5 or 6 theme and just out of wack
I don't use kalarm, I use qt6ct with my own theme which always worked fine
yep qt6ct and 5 also for my qt stuff
if u click on the menu top right on dolphin what colorscheme does it look like?
wtf what theme are u using
I am p sure yours is themed because you somehow selected dark theme in kde settings or something
mine's set to light iirc
@dreamy saddle yep smthing is weird
no it s nothing with kde settings i just use qt6ct and 5 for the qt stuff
It s just so weird that the modals for example on the menus show themed but not the actual windows I had a hunch same would happen with dolphin.
I think on your system u missed smthing and it s just not reading your theme at all
While on mine it s like out of wack? l ike either partially theming shit or just smthing wrong with those kde apps using the theme?
I assume normally on your theme the main windows should also be with that blue color instead of the white no?
if u use another theme like smthing dark so it s immediately visible is there still no change on dolphin for u?
@dreamy saddle gtry dolphin from terminal with --platformtheme qt6ct directly
I can try all the commands out there, it won't change a thing
dolphin is detecting the theme but something's broken in the dolphin itself, as I said, my system is properly set up and has worked flawlessly for months
as for you menu being themed, I am not saying that you are currently using kde settings, I am saying that one way or the other, you managed to set the kde system theme to dark, and therefore, it's using the dark theme for dropdowns
I mean u re probably right that it s a problem on dolphin s end but how do u know that it actually sees it? that s what i mean.
but i can see the colorscheme for the dropdowns chagning when i just switch a theme to anotehr scheme for example "but through the qtct config tools.
So what do u mean that I ve changed the kde system theme? that s where I m lost. Cuz the apps themeselves just follow qt.
There were -kde or smthing versions of the qtct tools also that re supposed to better integrate with kde but same issue no change while trying those

I guess I ll quickly go through kde s docs when i find some time. Maybe I m just missing smthing idk probably just something wrong on the apps ' end though just not sure
