I've got something using around 14hb of ram and I don't know what. I tried closing everything down and still those 15gb are in used.
In htop my biggest proces is xorg with 181mb RES.
I don't know how to troubleshoot this.
Sorry for the photos instead of the screenshot but I closed everything down.
I had apllications shutdown for lack of memory especially if I play a game that eat up alot of ram.
I'm on a linux zen 6.11.4-zen2 kernel
5700g and 5700xt

check systemctl status lightdm.service or display-manager.service
and journalctl -b | grep lightdm for some clues
personally i would just nuke dm and set it up again

When you say nuked it, you mean completely uninstall it et reinstall it ?

you can try to install accountsservice package and then sudo systemctl restart lightdm.service but thats all what i can think about.

Didn't do much, the problem is that even when I close everything the ram is still in use and keeps growing.
I can't see what consuming it.

For eample I was at 15.5gb in used using firefox discord thunderbird what'sapp notes and hourglass on, so normaly I should be around 3 to 5 gb used.
I started up a game, it went to 21gb used and when I closed the game now it's at 19.2gb used and it doesn't come down even if I close everything and restart lightdm
