I'm also getting problem regarding my cursor like I play minecraft and it's not getting allinge at centre automatically
It just stay there where I left
Switch between desktop environments or window managers in your display manager
You can install something like gnome or kde which (usually) shows both Wayland or X11 options or you can use xorg or Wayland specific wms/des
log out of your session, then in the bottom click on kwin (wayland) and change it to x11
please check this comment on the endeavour forums showing you how to use your display manager of choice
When you log out: If you are using Gnomeโs login screen (GDM), there will be an options button in the bottom right corner. Click it and you will be able to change between desktop environments. If you are using LightDM, there will be an icon of the desktop environment you are using (in your case KDEโs) over the password field. Click it and ...
i completely forgot fedora dropped x11 with their kde spin on fedora 40, you need to get it using sudo dnf install plasma-workspace-x11
i'm not sure they're using fedora
Provide more details what DE OR WM your are using or a fastfetch screenshot
they are using fedora kde spin
ah
There's no option fr
I checked this first
its forced in wayland.
first log on to the x11 session
Alr it means I have to switch to x11
then disable it
also just good practice, layout your issues similar to this:
Issue: describe the issue
setup: Your hardware and software setup (something like a fetch script should do)
things youve tried: stuff youve already tried, so anyone helping you can skip those.
Alr
@grave crater
Setup my teres ;-;
And also I installed xanmod but there's like no option to boot into in like arch Linux
isnt xanmod for latency and not performance? iirc it uses the realtime kernel.
Latency
yea it prolly has worse performance than the stable kernel
lemme check if phoronix has some benchmarks
Alr
Arch Linux has five different officially supported kernel builds: stable, hardened, long-term.
shouldnt be much different from the ones in fedora
follow the guide for that specific piece of software
either build it from source and install it or find an equivalent package from dnf/red hat. with teres the only premade package i see is via the AUR
Gimme the commands
teres should have a guide for their software
here is their guide for manual installation since you can't get it anywhere but the AUR
get it on distrobox
first get distrobox
sudo dnf install distrobox
then run distrobox-create -i docker.io/library/archlinux -n arch
distrobox-enter arch
then install yay or some other aur helper
if you want to use smoothie: yay -S smoothie-rs-linux-git
teres: yay -S teres
smoothie will build faster, as i started using vsakarin with llvm14 instead of llvm15 as llvm14 is already in the repos
alr
arch???
im on fedora mhm
@grave crater
oh nvm i got it
enable docker
im pretty sure its sudo systemctl enable --now docker.socket
if that doesnt work type sudo systemctl enable --now docker then press tab, that should auto complete the same of the service for you
?
youre running it as root?
what exactly is saying that.
sudo usermod -aG docker $USER i think you dont have the group docker on your user
what even gave you the error? (which command)
what gave your permission denied?
After running
what command?
W8
This
And the below one
have you ran sudo usermod -aG docker $USER ?
Hm
Hm
see
read what it says
@grave crater
read.
Bro
I recorded a clip
And opened it with dragon player and vlc
On both video players it's stucking
I recorder in mkv format
Recorded
nvm
i solved it ๐

@grave craterhow can i install yay in fedora?
or just gimme the command according to my AUR
i have installed COPR
what text editor do you have installed
Default one kwrite
Smoothie like was stuck for an hour
Gimme the cmd to edit it's config plz
it takes time to compile.
you have a 2core.
i honestly forgot the name of the config, its in ~/.local/share/teres though
Um leave
;-;
Idk how to go there fr
open dolphin.
press ctrl + h
Hm
go into .local
go in to teres
theres the config
Config
๐
you can make a shortcut to it on your desktop or something, using alt+drag and drop

Which thing to drag?
the config into your desktop
Hmn
press alt while doing it though
Ok sir
Ty
Smoothie
Wasn't installing
For 2 hours
@grave crater
In the shares
There's no config
I was in bathroom ๐
Teres file isn't there
Hm.
Nvm I got it
It was in .config on home page
@grave crater i noticed in Fedora rendering taking time for like a 100mb file with the same config on arch Linux
What?
The output of teres is not affected by the os
Brother, interpolation is not cheap, your 2 core is not fast enough to do it in a reasonable time period
But in arch it was fast ;-!
Did you test the same video in arch?
Because file size is NOT the determinant for speed
Wdym
I got the same recording setting a
Is it wildly slower?
Yea
Both teres?
Both?
The file size doesn't matter
Duration matters
Yup
And what is going on in the video
Um itz gud
No, like what's happening in the video affects speed
I got nice 60 fps renders
Its AI.
Nah no problem
It's just taking too much time
