uhh. idk how to explain it, basically, i forgot to add a new user, i added the KDE desktop environment, and idk how to log in as a root user because there is no user to select.
What i need is like a keybind or something to boot into the original kernal that you load into right when you open up the iso file.
Im using Oracle Virtual Machine for the machine

just boot back into the iso, mount the filesystem, arch-chroot, then make the new user
you should be able to add the iso as the first boot option in the vm settings
uhuh
what
how would i do that?
which part
booting back into the iso
do you still have the iso on your computer?
yes
then go into the boot options for the vm and set it to be the first
settings
system
enable secure boot?
did they change the ui..
think so
do you have an option to add something to the boot order
like, add the .iso file as an optical disk
i think in storage?
ok, try that
if its not there and all youve done is install kde it might just be easier to start over
ugh i spent 3 hours reinstalling arch for the 5th time
why did it take that long
it shouldnt take 3 hours to install the kernel
are you able to add the iso as a boot device
is the vm shut down?
yup
and its just grayed out like in the screenshot?
yes
then idk, i apologize, tis too late for me to troubleshoot more
if you can change the boot order and get the install shell it shouldnt be too hard to chroot and add new user
goodluck
tahnk you
found out how :)
you can do Ctrl + Alt + F1 ~ F7 to switch through terminals and add a user :)
sure, but you still need to log into those, no?
