im kind of new to arch, just finished setting up my install with hyprland, waybar etc and i noticed my install wasnt as smooth/more sluggish looking than the ones i saw in videos of others using similar setups. For context im using glxgears to test my fps, i have set the correct resolution and refreshrate in hyprland.conf and i even tried highrr to no avail. initially my fps wasnt any higher than 72 which i noticed was exactly half my refresh rate. i noticed a user having a similar problem on reddit and resolving it by using the proprietary nvidia drivers (i have a rtx 3050 mobile gpu on my laptop) which did not fix the issue for me and instead led to my fps falling even more (its at like 40-50 now) help?

You could try turning on variable refresh rate as well, should make things smoother while you're below your max refresh rate

that might have helped but i accidentally found a solution, switching to the aur version fixed the issue entirely
