I have a very interesting situation going on with my monitor except windows, every operating system (maybe except blissos - an z86 android rom as well) thinks that my monitor supports 4k it is not a 4k monitor tho its 1440p, 16:9. But every Linux distribution's user session, grub, login/display manager, thinks its a 4k monitor. This leads to rendering in grub and installers to be very janky.

Could it be my motherboard maybe? My friend with the same exact monitor but a different motherboard doesn't have this problem

i had the same issue. my monitor is 1440x900. but windows previously thought it was 2,048 × 1,152. i think it's a cable issue or something. i have 3 vga cables. and on 2 of them it's 2048x1152 . and the cable that i'm using now shows 1449x900.

i don't know why this happens. but cable could be an issue
