hey there, arch noob basically. just installed arch and the wifi was working perfectly fine but after turning it on today I have no section for network management and I used own tl and my wlan0 function is set to off. I used the command “device wlan0 set-property Powered on” and it came up with denied. anyway to fix this? thank you

what device do u havw?

#

the iso has more packages than a normal installation, so you might have drivers in the iso you don't have in your final installation

clear moss
#

wait so your network worked in the iso?

worn spindle
#

yes

#

and when i completed an install i was able to update the thing with some issues (random dropping where i had to restart the package install command) but it worked fine, i got steam and whatnot installed

clear moss
#

oh wait so it did work at the beginning

worn spindle
#

yeah

#

just today it’s giving me issues

#

i actually went back into the installer usb and the wlan0 device refused to start there too

clear moss
#

oh huh

worn spindle
#

i could use ethernet and reinstall network manager perhaps

clear moss
#

try that

worn spindle
#

clear moss
#

alright

worn spindle
#

just booted nope

clear moss
#

hmm

#

I guess you should try reinstalling networkmanager

#

i just installed this thing yesterday so i wouldn’t care if i had to install it again

#

but what was strange was that when i booted into that usb it wouldn’t turn on over there either

#

i’ve always had issues with wifi on this thing it’s so strange

#

i reinstalled because my mirrors where downloading at 50kbs and everything else was totally fine

#

like 4-5mbs per second which is normal for this old hardware

#

pacman -Q linux-firmware

#

rfkill list all

worn spindle
#

i tried some other things

#

checked the bios, it’s on

hardware blocked == have to poke the physical button, or if you are lucky; it's a broken firmware implementation where you have to boot windows to toggle it
