im using DWM and LY as my display manager. Whenever i login to dwm, i always have to launch my compositor separately from the terminal because i cannot do it upon startup. this works when i put the code in .zshrc, but this simply isnt practical and i will have to open a terminal everytime i launch dwm. Does anyone know a fix to this?

this is fixed ^^
to anyone who has the same problem, i used tty instead of my display manager and it loaded xinitrc flawlessly
@onyx jasper I use ly+ dwm :)
im still using it actually
i just use the shell to startx
it may not be the most convenient but its a temporary solution to my problem
why?
for some reason when i start dwm with ly it just doesnt load it
i dont have the time to figure out why ly is doing this though
🤷♂️
im curious, did you have any problems like this when you started using dwm?
i've switched from bspwm just today
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=DWM
Comment=Dynamic window manager
Exec=~/.xinitrc
Icon=dwm
Type=XSession```
@onyx jasper
thank you!
