it clearly says that directory you specified does not exist
so what am i supposed to do
not as simple as this
-C <path> are arguments to make
- github does not give you those arguments
it just asks you to run make
so make -C .?
it just asks you to run make
which doesnt work...
show error?
this picture
AH, im so dumb, sorry, i thought u passed all those arguments
i hate legacy makefiles
ah yes, ethernet speed immediately went to zero
hm, you should have something in this directory (for me its not empty, it has sources and makefile) but for you its empty
@rancid garnet do you have linux-headers installed? also, is it WSL?
no
no to which question
i dont have linux-headers
and is it WSL?
what is this
Windows Subsystem for Linux
install them then
(package is listed in installation guide iirc)
show full error log
actually thats possible, because linux had ton of patches and minor updates (and one major update) since this driver released
i dont think they will reply, because this driver is extremely outdated
yeah
customer support told me to escalate this to their tech support team
I've done this before but no guarantees
havent done it
Your issue lies in Linux API changes
Fixing this requires knowledge of C which I do have
I'll tell you if I get something working
good luck
also thank you kind soul
this is like my first week using linux im quite impressed how this community is
@rancid garnet alright I got something to compile
lemme get the diffs out of my test VM and I'll send it over
At first, use this tree
it has some useful fixes for kernel 6.5
On top of the tree apply this patch
This gets the source to a point where it can be compiled
From there it may work, it may not work but I have no way to debug anything from here onwards as that would require having the device
will try tomorrow
works but im not sure what to do afterwards
it takes like forever to connect (about 5 mins) so i think i missed something
this is wlan0 interface
i dont see any new ones
it may be a fault in your network config
I can't really help you onwards
I suck at anything network config
