This may not be fully recoverable. Take a look at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/DataRecovery
The 'reboot button' is likely actually a reset button that is meant to be used to clear the system's RAM if it freezes up without any hope of recovery. This can cause corruption just like power loss.
You likely need to recover them using something like TestDisk
