what options?
show the output of mount
oh that's just a case of udisks and gvfs miscommunicating
oh yeah
ls /mnt
findmnt /mnt/windows-part
okay
sudo mount /mnt/windows-part
[sudo] password for jake:
mount: /mnt/windows-part: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/nvme0n1p3, missing codepage or helper program, or other error.
dmesg(1) may have more information after failed mount system call.
sudo ntfsfix /dev/nvme0n1p3 --clear-dirty
again
then this again
no output
that means it worked
rly?
see this
TARGET SOURCE FSTYPE OPTIONS
/mnt/windows-part /dev/nvme0n1p3 ntfs3 rw,relatime,uid=1000,gid=1000,iocharset=utf8```
hmm
seems like it works
but
wait do i need to restart?
no
cuz currently the firemanager doesnt have the option
have you restarted the filemanager?
that's just cause ntfs and gvfs
oh fair enough
add this as a mount option
the other ntfs works
x-gvfs-show
bash: x-gvfs-show: command not found```
in your fstab
oh ok then
don't worry that happens sometimes
bruuh it gonna take 2 min
that's not the time it will take
that's the time before it kills itself forcefully
maximum time before system forces it to stop basically
normally it does take that much
it doesn't*
really
typo mb
nah
user manager is an essential part of your system
it usually shuts down fast
but sometimes it bugs out
how do you think your previous reboots worked
perhaps
but you can just ntfsfix it again :p
and it will appear on your file manager because of the x-gvfs-show mount option
it's not like you have to do this all the time
80% of the time user manager shuts down normally and doesn't get stuck
hm
breh its like playing with russian roulette
80% dont but 20% will
hmm
lemme reboot again and see
ok this time its smooth
holy
aight
ill call it solved
yayyyy
.n solved
