is logind a daemon that uses the tty?
@rare oyster
its the systemd "login manager"
oh
from what i know its not really a login manager but whatever
then I have no idea what that is lo
is there anything on the journal (if you're on ext4)
about that issue
or can you show if trying to launch hyprland/sway gives any error in the terminal
show?
just give me a second
for some reason stuff copied from nvim doesnt paste in other windows
if it's on a file you can just do do wl-copy $(cat file)
have you tried looking up "Hyprland received signal 6 (Aborted)"?
yeah
https://github.com/hyprwm/Hyprland/issues/3237 have you seen this then?
wrong link
yes
ok I tried sway as root and It launched
yeah just a min
oh?
could it be a config error?
I don't think so all I did was installing it and run the command
also how do I exit sway..
default config is super+Shift+e
so you don't have any config for sway?
I don't think so
Ill try running hyprland as root noa
now
oh it worked
that's weird
hmm
what I'm assuming is it has to be an issue with your user somehow
cause if it was an issue with the program itself I'm almost sure it wouldn't run as sudo either
I mean my user does have a hyprland config file
for some reason it works with dbus-run-session Hyprland/sway
this implies you need to start it as root
or use some other means to run it as an unpriveleged user
