Cant unmount drive after large file move with mv - Cached changes preventing unmount

no I want mv to finish properly

Im actually unmounting to free the cache

but its taking so long I dont think its gonna happen

how can I tell if the move operation is actually happening?

what annoys me even more is its a hard drive and I can literally feel it and tell its idle
