#[SOLVED] My USB drives show up in dmesg, lsusb but not fdisk nor cfidsk

Re-installed Arch like last week. And for some reason, all of my three USB drives (all of which are working 100% fine) aren't showing up on fdisk or cfdisk, so I can't use them, this includes the medium which I used to boot up Arch. They are showing in dmesg and lsusb however, and they also aren't reporting any errors in dmesg. I sincerely have no clue what's going on.

@elder solstice

#

yeah @winter frost

#

seems like a fdisk problem if you ask me

#

if thats possible

winter frost
#

you should point your fdisk/cfdisk to /dev/whatever-they-show-up-as then

#

like this: here i have my external ssd as sdb

elder solstice
#

wait NOW they show up in fdisk

winter frost
#

so if i want to partition it, i should do sudo cfdisk /dev/sdb

elder solstice
#

matter of fact, its are already mounted

winter frost
#

well thats weirdly convenient

#

ventoy?

elder solstice
#

yeah

#

i was gonna use that usb to store my isos

winter frost
#

well, good luck with that anyway

#

... solved
