#KDE, hovering over taskbar apps produces severe lag spikes

I'm on plasma 5. I thought its because of the preview, disabled it and it still lag spikes. Any idea? Yes I know my laptop is weak (i3 380M) but it should be causing such problems

its not only there, it also happens on menu with lot of shortcuts
