I'm going to fill you in the context that i only installed arch because i had miraculously saved the ISO to a USB stick and massively destroyed my Windows build. Keeping that in mind, know that i'm not very well versed in using Linux distros. Upon installing arch briefly, I've had massive issues with graphics. I still have different issues, but now patched out.
I have a GTX 1050 card, so I went on my proper way to fix this by installing nvidia with pacman - then, after rebooting, i had access to changing resolution on the GUI - however, arch "Whitescreens?" upon changing the resolution now - which was previously fixed at 800x600. I've read this is somehow related to the "nomodeset" kernel param - which isn't present on GRUB anymore, however, i did have to use it to install arch. It's not present anywhere else in my boot parameters, so i'm unsure if that installation remnant is still hidden somewhere.
#[Fixed?] Extremely odd video bug
