Hello, I have 16GB of ram Arch linux, nvidia drivers, no swap and when I hit full RAM, the system completely freezes, even the sound starts looping and there is nothing left to do other than hard poweroff. From what I heard, linux shouldnt just freeze and in severe cases should just use OOM to release some memory, but that doesnt happen to me. I know that I could probable solve this with adding swap, but Id like to know what is wong before doing that.

this is a problem for me, because when I play for example overwatch which hogs my memory I cant have even browser on my second monitor, because I would be risking system freeze
