I want to reinstall arch on my pc because of the unused packages building up over time eating space on my ssd. However i have some steam games that i would like to keep and not have to re download since my internet speed is bad. Is there a way to preserve the steamapps folder during reinstall?

by unused do you mean dependencies whose dependers are uninstalled?

because you can have pacman uninstall unneeded dependencies of a package at the same time
