i dont know
where are you seeing this number
on 1.20 opengl 3.2.0 its works fine but on 1.8.9 something 4.6.0 all the textures are messed up.
what minecraft launcher do you use
lunar
it aplies to all the launchers I use
its not lunar
does it have an option like "use system glfw" or somewhere that you set the lwjgl version? maybe you've set/enabled that
not in lunars launcher
so it is the opengl version we're talking about?
i have no idea it doesn't say, all it says is 4.6.0
where does it say that
okay i think that is the opengl version
people online are saying that in older versions of minecraft including 1.8, the version displayed is just the version supported by your system, not the version the game is using
in newer versions of minecraft, the number is the version the game is actually using (3.2)
older versions are actually using gl 2.0
why does it work on new versons and not on old ones
is their a way to fix it?
i don't know, but i don't think this is the reason for it
actually i see one potential problem
on newer versions its fine
you've launched the game with java 17
?
you should be using java 8
how do I fix it?
i have no idea how lunar works but there should be some way to set it in the launcher
you might need to install jre8-openjdk with pacman
i just did now what?
now figure out how to set it in the launcher
i know you can do it in multimc derivatives
and i think in the official launcher too
does lunar have instances like other launchers
not really
are there settings for each of these versions
or just the settings for the whole launcher
launcher
wdym, you said it applies to all launchers you use
or are you saying you already tried java 8 on other launchers and it didn't work
yes
oh ok, i don't know what the problem is then
i see that you have optifine enabled, have you tried launching without it
Have you tried disabling the resource pack you’re using? Also, what other launchers and game versions did you try?
yes
i have tried the original, multimc, lunar, badlion, and prism
Without mods?
yes
on original and prism i used no mods
how do I disable vsync
In Minecraft?
Set a VSync to off and set the FPS limit to something other than 0 (all the way to the left).
ok
i figured out the problems is that its running java 17 and needs to be running java 8 but I cant figure out how to do it
Do you have Java 8 installed
with prism you do it here (edit instance -> settings)
Ok
yeah
even with that it forces it
wdym
its locked on java 17 even when I change it and load into game in f3 its running 17
even with it set to java 8 in that menu and the java box checked?
are you sure you're editing the instance settings and not the global default settings for prism
yes
idk wtf is happening then
