Hi everyone. I've had this NVIDIA GPU for a couple months now and it's been nothing but headaches. I've been forced to use Wayland for the past few months, since I've switch to NVIDIA, but Wayland works very weirdly depending on the app (For example, Godot renders REALLY poorly, Discord is laggy and streaming doesn't work even with a fix, and although I get really good FPS in games, Steam is very slow to operate and flickers frequently). Today, I decided to try something completely random off the wall from a suggestion from a friend: unplug my 60hz monitor. For context, I have one 165hz monitor and one 60hz. To my utter shock, this completely fixed ALL of my issues with X11, but it's obviously not efficient for working because I need both of my monitors. Is there any way to fix this lag without having to unplug a monitor?

#NVIDIA Multi-Monitor causes significant lag and sluggishness to system under X11 but not Wayland

i'm not entirely sure how to describe itother than it just does not run well at all, things perform weirdly, youtube videos drop frames, games are very stuttery
disabling the compositor fixes some of the issues but not all of them, and obviously using KDE plasma without a compositor isnt a great idea
I don't know much, but from what I know from personal experience, if you have two monitors, then your refresh rate gets limited to the one with the lowest under X11. I don't know about a fix either.
so is there really no solution to this problem than to just... use wayland and suffer with the apps that don't have good wayland support? (eg, godot, discord, jellyfin etc?)
i dont know, u might have to wait till someone replies, i have a laptop , so ....
i think there might be some kind of a fix
like it's not a new issue
someone might have found a fix
just ask around
if not here
then go on reddit
r/archlinux
okay, ill go ask on maybe r/archlinux or the forums, because i know this wasnt an issue on my amdgpu, this issue only started once i switched to NVIDIA
i fell for nvidia working fine under linux lmao because it DOES work great on my laptop, so i bought the 3060ti thinking itd work great on there and its been nothing but problems since day 1
