#

can you copy the files in /dev/nvme0n1p3 to a spare drive?

#

may I see your disk layout?

#

(how much is used and whatnot)

#

yeah, i was googling a bit

#

it might be hard to shrink than what ext4 allows...

#

especially as this is your root partition

#

and for that you might have to do this from a usb drive

#

i would suggest backing up your data

#

do you have any personal files in this pc?

#

try following some guide for resizing via usb, and if you cannot get your desired size then resintall ubuntu by removing everything from your drive

#

copy everything personal

#

it's not worth it to lose files while doing stuff to the ssd

#

you can easily mess up

#

and lose your files

#

so this is a "live environment"?

#

and not achieved by pressing "install ubuntu"?

#

hmm... can you shrink your partition from windows?

#

(if you are running that I pressume)

#

ik

#

you can try Disk Management software in windows

#

boot up windows, find disk management and run it.

#

try your luck there

#

it is what it is.

#

(i run dual boot on my pc)

#

i had to get a larger usb on purpose for that

#

i realised you said you did not install windows.

#

if you are going to dualboot, it might be a good idea to install windows first, then ubuntu

#

actually what do you have on your partition? i am sorta confused... Are you running something else?

#

and you have windows currently installed then?

#

and is trying ubuntu?

#

oh

#

hahah. i usually think of installing windows before arch

#

alright

#

i understand

#

windows might mess up grub

#

but that is fixable

#

yup

#

kind of interesting gparted is not allowing you to resize with so much free space

#

i will google for a bit

#

seems like you can install a live gparted usb. or use ubuntu as you thought and install gparted there

#

: 7

#

lol

#

live debian then

#

lol

#

try your luck with that

#

yeah

#

though on second thought

#

idk if wifi drivers might mess up

#

i usually install a live void linux env

#

non-free -> wifi drivers gonna work hopefully

#

and pick your desktop environment

#

it's a live image

#

so it's larger than usual (like ubuntu)

#

well it's somewhat easier with a live image

#

for resizing

#

haha

#

you are gonna have to skip ahead to disk parititioning. dunno if it supports resizing...

#

lol

#

apt be missing

#

busybox be minimal
