So for some reason when i start an application my desktop will stutter and my mouse lags and video playback reduces to like 1fps. Sometimes this can persist for like a minute+ while the application loads, i have tested with a task manager open that reports cpu useage of just 11-12% and RAM useage of 30% yet the mouse severely lags as do all windows, including the task manager itself lagging significantly, it appears that audio is unaffected. The problem seems to be worse if using wine or steam proton. My computer should not have any issues loading or running anything, ryzen 5 2700, 48gb ram, 1060, nvme ssd. I do not know how to diagnose this and I dual boot and do not have this issue on Windows. If anyone has any idea what causes this and how to fix then I will appreciate your assistance

Specifically when I try to launch Wizard101 my PC basically hangs eternally until I can manage to navigate to task manager, wait for it to load, and then kill it mercilessly
This is the worst offender, launching steam games causes a 1-5s hang
by hang I mean the performance drop in the desktop environment to 1fps
Hmm missing video drivers maybe?
U think?
fetch?
something like neofetch
ye
hmm wth
that is a good sign 😅
Well I thought maybe some wayland - nvidia issue
but xfce is xorg

All of it (i cause mem leaks), aside from that close to 40
Hard to believe but alright lol
Windows used to consume like 4-8gb all on its own which is one reason of many that prompted to switch
4gb windows + 16 minecraft + 4 firefox is alrdy 24gb if I also dont have any work running at the same time
