[""SOLVED""] Issues with Steam when trying to start a game

Hello, I'm yet again asking for help because of Steam being funky today. Today, I wanted to play Cyberpunk 2077, but when trying to open the game, it only gave me the "Launching" message during 5 minutes without any progress. Thinking it was a bug, I decided to cancel and try to open the game again, which didn't worked. When trying to verify game files, the process got stuck on "Resetting Install Script" and haven't changed for 5 more minutes. Bored of waiting, I decided to close Steam and open it again (not without killing all the process that stays open after closing, does anyone else got this issue ?). But after opening it again, my issue wasn't fixed. Searching up on google haven't gave me any answer, and so I tried uninstalling the game, and after 5 minutes, Steam gives me an error saying Failed to uninstall Cyberpunk 2077 due to: connection time out, which I know for a fact this isn't an issue with my Network, having around 500 mb/s, so I'm creating a post here hoping that people can help me with that :/

Also there is my specs and Nvidia driver

hi, you could open that directory from steam and just forcefully remove it, then try reinstalling
cyberpunk is a huge game so it takes a little while

I casually just fixed it by clearing Download Cache

I forgot this existed 💀

Well, i'm actually opening this thread again because my issue isn't fixed, after checking with other games, it appears that none of them are opening, but they say that they are "running", so yeaaa-

I do have all dependencies installed, and it used to work before

I'm also using the runtime version of Steam, not the flatpak

for example, I tried with Warframe and this is where I got stuck since 10 min

for Combat Master, the game open, load 8% and crashes, Risk of Rain 2 does the same as Warframe and Cyberpunk 2077 does the same thing as the initial problem I had

that is very strange, any interesting outputs when you launch steam from terminal and see what happens when you click on launch?

aight, small follow up, after trying to start games with Flatpak version, looks like everything works, not like runtime version, so ig i'll be using flatpak from now on, any issues I should be aware with the flatpak vers ?

hmm, might be missing a dependency on the runtime version but it's good to see it's working on flatpak
also i don't think so? aside from maybe gpu drivers like nvidia? not sure if they use the latest or if it matters for some games

it's so weird, because like

some games works

and some aren't

like, Warframe managed to start at some point, where Cyberpunk was stuck on Launching

and with the flatpak, it works normally

oh well, i'll run the flatpak for now I suppose

iirc cyberpunk's launcher doesn't launch for me either but it does on windows, some games don't run at all
try checking protondb or changing the compatibility version

Cyberpunk launcher does run for me tho

Like, used to at least on the Runtime

on the flatpak it runs too, and no issues with it
