arch linux is a rolling release distro

#

you are just left behind here, the versions of the packages you are requesting no longer exist in the servers, old versions are replaced by much newer ones

So is there nothing I can do? I last did sudo pacman -Syu a couple days ago

#

And there's nothing wrong with my mirrorlist?

mighty sedge
#

do pacman -Syu mgba-qt

#

there could be but that's not the first suspect for me

[alex@archlinux ~]$ sudo pacman -Syu mgba-qt
[sudo] password for alex:

I think it's the mirrorlist

mighty sedge
#

that's weird (i wouldn't expect kernel.org to drop archlinux), i guess you will need to refresh your mirrors list

ebon yew
#

sudo pacman -Syyu?

mighty sedge
#

no no

#

here's a list of all the mirrors available

ebon yew
#

do I just copy paste that list into my mirrorlist and uncomment some mirrors?

mighty sedge
#

yep

#

the mirrorlist file is on /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

ebon yew
#

Thanks, it works fine now and I can now play gba games on my pc

some people use reflector or some other tools for updating their mirrors list and ranking the servers from fastest to slowest

#

you don't have to bother yourself with that

#

but i want it to bring it to your attention

ebon yew
#

I heard of reflector, I went to the page on the wiki and it was down

#

Nevermind I found it

mighty sedge
#

yeah i think reflector is dead, i personally use rate-mirrors

ebon yew
#

I got rate-mirrors done

#

Thanks again though

Sorry to bump but @ebon yew install and configure reflector

#

Oh you did, okay cool, this wiki page should be linked when it’s recommended

#

.aw reflector
