#

where is the error message

#

what do you mean stable release of arch linux

#

are you on arch linux v2

#

arch linux is rolling and as far as i know there is no version promoted as stable

#

but that doesn't say anything about arch linux

#

only the kernel info

#

what

mellow mortar
#

what is stable arch linux

lament wraith
#

do you have a error message

#

when attempting to do what

#

launching a program

#

?

#

does arch linux not boot at all

#

ok but what did you do to

#

make the

#

errors appear

#

if you launch konsole does it immediately print that

mellow mortar
#

what is the full error message

#

we can only see the file paths

lament wraith
#

that looks like

#

No file information for <path>

#

ok so what is the

#

output now

#

what

mellow mortar
#

i think the errors are just indicating that files it expected to see in the file system weren't there

#

and it looks like it's just translations for other languages

#

which are not important functionality

#

are you the guy who was using bleachbit

lament wraith
#

can you specifically send the output of what happens

#

after you try to install something

mellow mortar
#

i'm just asking because someone on arch forums mentions it in response to a similar issue

#

you can do it in the cli but not with the shortcut?

lament wraith
#

what options did you use for bleachbit anyways

mellow mortar
lament wraith
#

Localizations

mellow mortar
#

i bet that's the issue

lament wraith
#

yes

#

that is an issue

#

that's why you got lots of language missing things

mellow mortar
#

it's kind of pointless to remove them because they will just cause the error messages and be put back when you update anyway

#

wdym

#

oh them being broken

#

idk, might be a seperate issue

This is a common problem. In short, you can try the following steps

  1. Make sure the mirror you are using is up to date, https://archlinux.org/mirrors/status/
  2. If the mirror is not up to date, temporarily switch to Server = https://archive.archlinux.org/repos/last/$repo/os/$arch.
  3. Reinstall archlinux-keyring, pacman -Sy --noconfirm archlinux-keyring
  4. Reset the keyrings if the above did not work

#

if you plan to use bitbleach again

#

look carefully

#

but personally i see no need because if programs want to store temporary data for the current session

#

they should put it in /tmp

#

you can use stuff like filelight to see which directories are using up the most space
