I followed the necessary steps to get my wifi working during pre-installation by running the following rmmod b43 bcma wl modprobe wl I proceeded to install the linux firmware and headers after the installation finished while in chroot. Once I restarted the computer and logged into the OS, i constantly run into the wifi attempting to connect but failing. Since then I've tried blacklisting bcma, installing the drivers for broadcom and enabling only 1 wifi service at a time( iwd service/NetworkManager etc) I followed the steps here on extracting and installing the drivers: http://linuxwireless.sipsolutions.net/en/users/Drivers/b43/ I also made sure to copy the drivers to /lib/firmware and /lib64/firmware

Did u look at that?
does ip a show the adapter?
It does show the adapter
So what doesnt work then
actually connecting to my wifi network
a dhcp client is installed?
How can I verify that?
well thats a given bc networkd
if u only use iwd u would need one
I have Network Manager service enabled and running
nope, you wouldn't
it has a builtin one
then you have a dhcp client working
but does it see your device
does ip a spit meniton a device other than lo
fucking read the convo if u jump in like that lol
NetworkManager does see my wifi as well as others nearby
its 1am im too tired
I've also attempted using NetworkManager and iwctl
uhh are both running
if so
stop one
ok make sure you only use one
Does b43 and wl need to be running at the same time?
no
i used wl on my macbook air and it worked fine so
does it see networks if you boot
Okay, yeah so to confirm I currently only have wl running
Yes it sees networks
Well the clarify
I can see my network in the list
but when it tries to connect it fails with the error: The wifi network could not be found
I have systemd running at the same time as NetworkManager is that problematic or can those run simultaneously
wdym
do you not know what systemd is
did you mean networkd?
I had networkd and a couple systemd service that looked related to network running.
Finally got it to work. Went with a manual install instead of running archlinux install
oh cool
