#|solved| why does proton just do this
26 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
right click game -> properties -> launch options -> add PROTON_LOG=1
example
the number is the games app id
also a possibility: I think Metro Last Light Redux replaced Metro Last Light Complete Edition, doesn't even have a store page anymore
I have both games as well
for the proton log file
it'll be in your home directory, labled steam-appID.log where appID is the number
did you launch the game after adding PROTON_LOG=1?
and the log file isn't in home directory?
do you have proton enabled under the compatibility tab?
have you checked protondb to see if ppl had the same issue or nah ?
weird
I think I have the game so I can check myself to see if I have the same issue
reinstalling the game rn, gimme like 10 min
well, the game does run without Proton for me, eh
check if your drivers are updated and try to run the game with Proton, maybe that can help
ah oof
well now it works so pog

Thank you
Also yeah
wineprefix can't be written to NTFS, that's the reason you have to make the compatdata to a link to a linux file system
like ext4, btrfs, etc
so not necessarilly link i tto boot drive
you just gotta link it to an ext4, btrfs, etc drive/partiion
as long as it's not fat or ntfs, you can put compatadata and wineprefixes there
