Hello, I wanted to make a new partition for windows, but I accidently made it too small. Now I cant seem to touch the partion /home/ at all

The filesystem size is 59729233 blocks
The physical size of the device is 56640768 blocks

It says the superblock or partition table is likely corrupt. What can I do?
I am using the partition manager through the Steam Deck recovery image

the method depends on the filesystem

#

if using ext4, use resize2fs

pseudo sequoia
#

Im currently trying but Im stuck. It seems like I need to use fdisk?

lilac epoch
#

what do you mean stuck

pseudo sequoia
#

yes, I also tried resize2fs

#

It says cant read a block bitmap while trying to resize

lilac epoch
#

actually i guess you could fdisk but it would have to match the physical size

lilac epoch
pseudo sequoia
#

No. I only used KDE PArtition Manager to make an unallocated partition

#

I read online that KDE partition manager can be buggy

lilac epoch
#

then use gparted

#

people use that

pseudo sequoia
#

Yea I didnt know, thought it would get the job done for something basic like this

lilac epoch
#

so maybe just resize it back with fdisk

#

or cfdisk

#

then use gparted

#

also

pseudo sequoia
#

how should I use fdisk?

lilac epoch
#

dont resize while using

lilac epoch
#

M=MiB (1024*1024 bytes)
G=GiB (1024 MiB)

I need to go to the partition thats having the problem (home), go resize, and then set the size to the correct one?

#

which is 56640768 sectors?

lilac epoch
#

it chooses the correct one by default

pseudo sequoia
#

oh

#

ok

lilac epoch
#

well

#

it chooses all the unallocated space

#

which should work

lilac epoch
#

welp

#

@pseudo sequoia you didnt have unallocated space before right

pseudo sequoia
#

correct

lilac epoch
#

yea then you just press enter after choosing resize

pseudo sequoia
#

It doesnt do anything

#

And the size also looks uncorrect in cfdisk

lilac epoch
#

and if so, did you write

#

if not that's why

pseudo sequoia
#

I tried to make a new size for test, made a partition. closed cfdisk, opened again and its not there

lilac epoch
#

write it before closing

#

see how when you select quit it says 'quit the program without saving changes'?

#

you didn't save the changes

pseudo sequoia
#

I see okay

#

checking

#

but now all the sizes make no sense

lilac epoch
pseudo sequoia
#

wait nvm, I was working on the flash drive

#

no judge pls

lilac epoch
#

oh ok

#

its chill

pseudo sequoia
#

Then I dont see the nvme drive in cfdisk

#

or how do I change disk?

lilac epoch
#

oh

#

cfdisk /dev/nvme[thing]

#

ig its different than fdisk

pseudo sequoia
#

ah yes. checking now

#

Okay, I think cfdisk did it all well?

#

Have to test both partitions now

#

How is KDE so buggy? jesus

#

ok nvm, Linux (SteamOS) is not booting

#

is it dead?
