Hi there! Had a little issue while trying to install Arch today... here's some info:

Archiso environment

Tried installing the essential packages "base linux linux-firmware" using "pacstrap -K /mnt base linux linux-firmware" (as the wiki says in the installation guide)

I just got an error: "Public keyring not found; have you run 'pacman-key --init'?", followed by "error: keyring is not writeable" around 20 times or so.

I was expecting it to just simply install the packages on my root partition which has been mounted to /mnt.

It's my first time installing Arch, so it would be awesome if someone could help :D

#

Oh and by the way, I did try running "pacman-key --init"; in the end it just tells me that the trust database could not be updated. Before that it says A LOT OF other things that just went wrong

Try running pacman -Sy archlinux-keyring and see if it helps

I would try rebooting the ISO

maybe that helps

#

you'll need to remount your partitions and reconnect to wifi after though

alright

#

i... think that might have worked?

#

looks like it, well, guess the old trick of rebooting always seems to work, even in an arch linux installation

thanks!
