#arch partition

The second option here works fine. It's just if you're comfortable wiping Windows and all of its data
^ This option seems similar (first option under disk layouts), they both suggest a layout and make assumptions about the installation.
There's roughly three things that happen when setting up disks: Creating partitions, formatting/setting filesystems of the partitions, and setting mountpoints for where those system files go. If you made a partition and didn't format it with a filesystem, then it would have some issues putting files on there and give an error. If Windows is still there intact it's likely possible to still do a dualboot
If you selected that option, it would do those three steps for you and install just Arch Linux.
