hey guys, can someone help me with GRUB? I couldn't edit the grub.conf in anyway, so I changed the efibootmgr index listening to chat gpt and now I cannot get the grub listing in uefi back... i chrooted into the arch from live Ubuntu and reinstalled grub and added the uefi listing but it doesn't seem to work... I'm not very experienced with this kind of stuff. Can someone help me?

I think I might have done something wrong with mounting the EFI partition. I mounted it manually earlier to /boot and it lists in /boot/EFI (uppercase). the grub-installer doesn't see it by default - I had to point it with --efi-dir=
we're able to figure it out by redoing it. first i think i mounted my efi to /boot instead of /boot/efi and i think that /boot/EFI is not the same as /boot/efi for some reason
edit grub via /etc/default/grub and then redo the grub-mkconfig
/boot/grub/grub.cfg isn't meant to be manually edited
yeah directories matter, the standards are /boot, /boot/efi and /efi, I think that's in order of popularity that I've seen, as this is solved please edit the title 🙂
