I am aware that flameshot has a lot of issues on gnome using wayland (which is a gnome issue, not a wayland or flameshot issue), what I'm not sure about is if there's a way to get flameshot working without relying on the terminal for screenshotting. I have been informed by someone else in #tech-general that they have achieved this, seemingly without issue.
For avoidance of doubt, I have tried this in a vm as well, so my being on nvidia on my host machine does not seem to be relevant.
I've tried installing and enabling gnome-shell-extension-appindicator, I have xdg-desktop-portal and xdg-desktop-portal-gnome installed, and despite not thinking it'll be relevant, thought I'd install grim as well.
Problem: When I clicked to take a new screenshot, or open launcher, etc. nothing happens. If I click to open a new window and then click on those things, still nothing happens. if I quit the flameshot session I then get notifications saying that it was unable to capture screen (all at the same time).
The only way to get flameshot to work seems to be opening two terminals, one running flameshot, the other when needed has flameshot gui.
I'm hoping there's a way to do things without relying on the terminal.
Let me know if you have any suggestions, cheers, vegancookies 🙂
