I've had this problem for a while that many apps do not open Dolphin when I click to open in the file manager. I am not quire sure how to set Dolphin as the default file manager, because I want to change the banner for a local steam game, and you need to use the file manager to be able to do that.

I had the same problem with firefox and many other apps.
Solution is to have those packages in your system: xdg-desktop-portal xdg-desktop-portal-kde
and also, using env variable GTK_USE_PORTAL=1
Some apps may require other ways to deal with it. But, it should work with most of them!
