I have a System76 Gazelle 17in Laptop. I have installed EndeavorOS just fine but there is an issue where the touchpad does not work at all.

A few years ago I had this same issue and the only fix was to downgrade to Kernel 5.13.10 (and this still works right now) any dangers using this old kernel? Is there any fix known for this I’ve scoured the internet for answers.

Here’s my old bug thread.

Currently what’s the issues I will face running a 3 year old kernel? Should I leave it or try to upgrade and use synaptic and i2c

also

#

if anything tries to use new kernel (eg most drivers) then it doesnt work

#

you can maybe try using lts

#

also consider trying a different distro's iso and comparing drivers to what you have normally to see what it does differently

5.13.12 broke the touchpad, but 5.13.10 it works

#

Arco is the same story

#

System76 pop os works fine

Nope and I found another solution that includes downgrading to kernel 5.0.0 lol

#

It’s totally undetected in xorg or devices when I cat it higher kernel
