a quick google search told me that kde always had issues with multiple monitors AsahiClown tho it would be really great if i can actually get it to work. oh and as an extra note, this is my first time with linux (oops)

my second monitor is hooked up by a hdmi cable to my laptop and is of a different resolution. i have an acer nitro 5, meaning a nvidia driver too Deadge running xrandr only lists my laptop monitor. never had a problem with this with windows or gnome. is there any way to fix this?

That's probably the source of your issues

Are you using dual GPU (such as optimus)?

#

Try using KDE X11 instead of KDE Wayland

#

(wayland breaks for me, but tbh it got less weird glitches for me except multi monitor

#

and try to remove /etc/x11/xorg.conf

#

and maybe remove some config from /etc/x11/xorg.conf.d

currently switched to gnome for the meantime bc the multiple monitor issue bothered me so much
but yeah i have a dual gpu TomoyaThink

Dual GPU currently have issues on Linux due to some nvidia problem.

Off topic but some suggestions for your laptop:

  1. Remove optimus-manager (if you have it installed) and use official Nvidia offload method.
  2. (Maybe) switch to Wayland (since I experienced less glitches, but sometimes I'll get low fps on games, not sure why, anyway it is up to you)
  3. Read the Nvidia arch wiki page again, in case you haven't added kernel parameters and stuff
  4. Try to use the nvidia-dkms package instead of nvidia

I used to have the same problem and removing xorg configurations (/etc/X11/xorg.conf and some other stuff if I remembered correctly, but you got the idea) solved this for me
