#info-rules is kinda out of date. The staff list needs updating. I also want to suggest some changes to the "Other Information" section (a screenshot of which is attached below).
Instead of telling people to message an online mod or create a post in #1006744879583461418 if they have issues with another person, I think it should tell people to create a ticket.
I also think that #mod-guidelines-faq should be archived and that that a link to the mod guidelines and the mute policy from that channel should be included in that section of the info instead (addresses #1055919577097322578).

Alternatively, the moderation guidelines could be a separate section with a link to the full guidelines, a short description of them, and the mute policy.
i think #mod-guidelines-faq needs to be its own channel
it needs to be highlighted
no one looks in #info-rules
in the past 28 days, five people total looked at #info-rules
449 people looked at #mod-guidelines-faq
• If you have a problem with the server or other members, please bring it up in server-meta. If you do not feel comfortable doing so, feel free to message any online mod.```
Could change to:
• This server is UNOFFICIAL and not sponsored by or affiliated with Arch Linux or its related projects.
• If you have a problem with the server or other members, please bring it up in a ticket, to open a ticket please use the command:
/tickets open
and then right the name of the ticket in the subject field. For more information, you can head over to #bot-commands and type the command:
.s tickets
Where qbot will tell you what you need to do.
If you have feedback suggestions for the server for improvements, then make a thread in #server-meta
It's a bit more long winded, but might help direct people a bit better?
• If you have a problem with the server or other members, please bring it up in a ticket, to learn how to open a ticket head to #bot-commands and send this message:
.s tickets```
Is the other route I guess?
i could just run .s tickets in there lol
too clever for me
Related change: Write the channel names in this section as inline code. That way the channel names are actually visible so that you know what the role is for
Discord changed this to show the new "No Access" thing. It used to show the channel name regardless of access to it.
meh I think people can understand what channel they're gaining access to
I honestly wasn't sure if I want to click the controversial role, since in some tech communities "controversial" is really awful stuff. Granted, after I saw the trans role I thought "ok this doesn't seem like a toxic place", but I think the role could use a bit more explanation. To be honest probably a bit more than just the channel name.
I've implemented an update to the first post in #info-rules , after accidentally duplicating my own name in both lists and removing Fjorge's (sorry Fjorge!) I have hopefully geverything else either how it was, or better made. If there's anything else to add or edit please let me know!
I wonder, is it worth removing the trans ping role, or making it proudly transinstead? It obviously is no longer pingable, but I think the people with it do like to have it? Or we could broaden even that to be proudly LGBTQ+ (perhaps with a broader flag)?
I think it might be worth linking the discord tos and community guidelines somewhere in there
probably in the rules embed
although it should go without saying and everyone should know it... well you know...
ngl I forgot about this suggestion, got any copy you think is worth exploring?
I'm not quite understanding the second half of what you said
copy of?
text you want added /changed
not really. idk where to put it
maybe instead of
Follow the Arch Code of Conduct.
it could be
Follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines and the Arch Code of Conduct.
