[SOLVED] audio plays thru headphones but not speakers in Fedora 38 beta

headphones plugged into front panel audio, speakers are plugged into rear panel audio
using onboard audio from MSI PRO VD plus b350m motherboard (some realtek stuff, all ik is that it should work fine)
unplugging headphones does not cause speakers to work
speakers do show up as "line out" when choosing my output device, however
speakers are turned on when testing
using pipewire + easyeffects

fixed, was a skill issue at the physical layer (forgot to plug in the right cable
