#problems with pacman, when downlading packages

I am new to arch, and installed it on my laptop yesterday. I used the https://archlinuxgui.in/ installer, and have problems with pacman. Everytime I try downloading packages, it aborts and throws an error about conflicting packages. Here is the exact wording:

error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: intalling flac (1.4.2-1) breaks dependency 'libFLAC.so=8-64' required by libsndfile

I tried fixing it for a while now, but I am not experienced enough in Linux to find a solution on my own.

What command are you using to install the package?

in this specific case:
sudo pacman -S firefox

Try doing a system update (Syu) first, and see if that helps

Also, I wouldn't recommend using third party installers, as Arch comes with archinstall now

It updated a lot of packages, but after downloading them, threw a lot of errors about signatures before stating:

error: failed to commit transaction (invalid or corrpted package(PGP Signature))
#

so should I resinstall with archinstall?

#

Haven't really done anything on the install yet, soo could do that

I'll just go ahead and do that

Yeah that's probably just for the best

Yeah i also installed arch using this way and also came across this problem. I don't remember how exactly i fixed it but I'll try.

Try doing this
sudo pacman -S archlinux-keyring
