It may be best to use something like exFAT for shared drives, as the linux kernel driver for that is more stable

If you want to use the kernel driver for NTFS, format the drive from within Windows

You're just formatting the other drives, you wouldn't even be touching the main drives

You would have needed to install ntfs-3g (the FUSE NTFS drive) to get the tools to make NTFS drives on Linux

I didn't realize windows set up a partition scheme like that though
