#[Closed] Add a gap from top in polybar

I am trying out polybar and wanna add some gap between the screen's top edge and the bar. I have tried using offset-y = 16 for that purpose but it wont work. i also tried adding a percentage sign just for the heck of it but it wont budge.

Is there some other key that i am missing (or is it a bug?) I am using xmonad WM and i am setting override-redirect = true (and have promptly setup xmonad to leave space for the bar)

turns out im too fucking dumb for this shit, and i had spelled offset wrong and polybar doesn't warn against it
